About

I am a contemporary artist working on ecological themes that connect human and non-human worlds. I have an extensive exhibition history, and my work is held in private and corporate collections. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Contemporary Art (Honours), Grad.Dip.Ed., and Grad.Cert.Ed. (Design and Technology).

In 2020 my partner suffered a life changing spinal injury. I continue to adapt my practice, while caring for him and our lives together.

Process

My awe of nature, and sense of wonder remain undiminished. I am strongly influenced by the location of my home and studio in Albany, Western Australia. Selective use of materials and process supports my ongoing fascination with not only flora and fauna, but the living systems that support them.

Climate change is upon us, but even small efforts can help reduce its impact. Recycled materials are used in sculpture and assemblage. Found materials are being explored in painting, and Australian products are bought locally to support local businesses.

Locally sourced materials include seagrasses, beeswax and raw wool.

Acknowledgement of Country

I acknowledge the Menang Noongar people as the traditional custodians of the Boodja (land) on which I live. I pay my respects to their continuing culture, and the vital contribution they make to the Albany regions.
